Character
The novel that I am reading is called oryx and crake. This novel is narrated by a character named snowman. He started his life as Jimmy, later changed it to snowman because of a game named Extinctathon. The story begins after the collapsed of civilization. Glenn, renamed Crake during the playing of a game named Extinctathon. Crake is Jimmy's childhood friend, who's an excellent student in high school. Jimmy and Crake used to spend a lot of time together after school. During this time, they play online games, like Extinctathon.
Later on, Crake turned from a brilliant teenager to becoming a mad scientist. Crakers, created by Crake as a part of the Paradise project, they are creatures that possess what Crake considered the best parts of genetic material from many species. Snowman has become the Crakers’ guardian after. He makes sure that they don't come in contact with anything that might harm or confuse them.
